Ameren Missouri will be required to comply with various provisions intended to mitigate the impact of the wind farm on the environment and Missouri wildlife.
The Missouri Public Service Commission (PSC) has granted a certificate of convenience and necessity (CCN) to Ameren Missouri to construct, own, and operate an approximate 299-MW wind facility. The wind farm, known as the Outlaw Project, is in Atchison County.
Under the agreement approved by the PSC, the Outlaw Project will be constructed pursuant to a build transfer agreement between Ameren Missouri and Enel Kansas, LLC.
Enel Kansas formed a special-purpose entity — Outlaw Wind Project, LLC — to complete the project.
Once the facility is built, Ameren Missouri will purchase 100% of the ownership interest in Outlaw Wind Project and merge it into Ameren Missouri.
“After reviewing the atipulation and agreement, application, and information presented by the parties, the commission independently finds and concludes that the Stipulation and Agreement is a reasonable resolution of the issues it addresses and should be approved,” said the PSC.
Ameren Missouri provides electric service to approximately 1.28 million customers in Missouri.
