Most people in the bolting industry know Hooke’s law which states, “stress is directly proportional to strain.” For bolts, it means that their stretch (strain) is proportional to load. That simple expression is also the critical tenet in Controlled Bolting Training (CBT). However, not all bolt training is equivalent. The training standard chosen for a company’s technicians and customers will have a major impact on safety, project outcomes, and customer service. Classes offered include bolting theory, joint components, bolt load and gasket compression, joint alignment, torquing, and bolt tensioning. Operating high-pressure hydraulic tools requires sound knowledge that should be regularly maintained by refresher courses. This program lets clients train new employees in the proper use of a wide range of tools as well as continuing education for current employees.
