SKF lubricator for wind turbines

As a distributor, Availon will sell, install, and support a range of SKF and Lincoln automatic lubrication products.

Availon Inc., an independent service provider to the wind industry, is pleased to announce a distributorship agreement with the SKF Lubrication Business Unit . As a distributor, Availon will sell, install, and support a range of SKF and Lincoln automatic lubrication products (ALS). Availon engineers and field technicians also will benefit from the training provided by SKF specialists on ALS applications for wind energy.

Wind farm owners and operators know from experience that poor lubrication causes about 36% of all premature bearing failures. The role of automatic lubrication systems in ensuring operating efficiency and high-energy yield of wind turbines cannot be overemphasized. An ALS delivers proper lubrication that increases the time between service intervals, protects and extends the life of assets and ensures that the right amount of lubricant is applied at the right time.

“Availon has promoted the value and benefits of automatic lubrication to the market in North America and Europe for several years,” says Availon Director of Sales John Boorman. “We see the long-term, positive impact of the investment in ALS products. This agreement provides a great opportunity to our customers. Availon’s strong field expertise paired with the world-renowned SKF and Lincoln brands.”

“We chose Availon for our partner because they are in Operation & Maintenance as an Independent Service Provider company that has extensive wind turbine expertise and a goal of implementing more automatic lubrication systems to improve the performance of wind turbines,” says SKF national account manager Otto Diaz. “By identifying an O&M and ISP company that shares our goal, it was evident that Availon has the tools to be a success.”
