Nearly 300 product additions, shorter lead times, and a GoTo Products app covering North America highlight Fall enhancements to Rexroth’s fast delivery program. 2014 also marks the GoTo Program’s 5th anniversary.

Rexroth’s GoTo Focused Delivery Program has expanded in North America with 300 product additions, shorter lead times, and a newly updated GoTo Products app for all NA customers.

Bosch Rexroth’s GoTo Focused Delivery Program, originally launched in the U.S. in 2009, is celebrating its 5th year of providing fast deliveries of the company’s most widely used drive and control products. To mark this important milestone, Rexroth has just added nearly 300 additional products to the program, shortened lead times even further, and released an all-new GoTo Products app for customers across North America.

The GoTo Program, which started in the U.S. with just over 1,000 part numbers in April 2009, now offers more than three-and-a-half times the original offering. Rexroth also continues to shorten lead times within the program; 98% of the products in the program ship in fewer than 10 days. Key new additions to the program include AA4G series 32 and AA10VG pumps for mobile hydraulics applications, as well as an expansion of the compact directional valve portfolio. Industrial hydraulics enhancements feature the addition of A15VSO and  AA4VSO widely used new pumps available from local U.S. inventories for the first time.

The latest GoTo update also boasts product additions across all drive and control technology product lines: Size 25 roller rail runner blocks are included in the linear motion GoTo offering for the first time, as are new freely configurable electromechanical cylinders. Lead-time improvements and increased quantity limits highlight the electric drives and controls offerings, with MSK and MSM servo motors, as well as system cables  now available in 10 days. In the area of assembly technologies, the latest additions expand the GoTo range of accessories for ergonomic workstations, including a new line of ergonomic work chairs.

The updates are reflected in all of the latest catalogs at all three country websites: www.boschrexroth-us.com/GoTo , www.boschrexroth.ca/GoTo , and www.boschrexroth.com.mx/GoTo. Most importantly, Rexroth’s GoTo Products app has been fully updated to support customers anywhere in North America. With the just-released version 4.0 for iPad, iPhone, and Android users in Canada, Mexico and the U.S. can retrieve local pricing, find their local salesperson or distributor, add products to a shopping cart and email it for a quote. The app also features new capabilities for sharing app content via social media, the creation of multiple wishlists for easy re-ordering of products, and quick access to numerous how-to videos and other useful content. App users can instantly retrieve all of the updates by using the application’s sync-on-demand feature at any time after installation.

Central Europe, Brazil and many other countries have also introduced the benefits of streamlined access to GoTo products to their customers as well. Check your local websites for more information. For a complete listing, visit our international website at:

Latest in the Rexroth Resource Kit series provides case studies, technical papers, software tools and web resources to help manufacturers and machine builders incorporate lean principles into their production solutions. Bosch Rexroth has added a new Lean Production and Automation Insights Kit to its popular educational resource kit series.

Bosch Rexroth resource kits provide educational material addressing engineering challenges. Available kits include factory automation, mechatronics, hydraulics, packaging and printing, mobile technology and now—lean production and automation.

Bosch Rexroth resource kits provide educational material addressing engineering challenges. Available kits include factory automation, mechatronics, hydraulics, packaging and printing, mobile technology and now—lean production and automation.

Drawing on a wealth of expertise covering both automation technology and best practices for implementing lean techniques in a manufacturing environment, this new kit will help machine builders, system integrators and manufacturing end-users uncover wasted time, effort and resources within their operations and develop solutions to help them become more lean.

Packaged on a USB drive, the kit combines documents and resources loaded on the drive with links to useful technical information and planning tools on the Bosch Rexroth website.

The kit’s materials are drawn from Bosch Rexroth’s extensive library of customer application case studies, expert technical papers, current product brochures, links to state-of-the-art engineering and design tools, and the company’s latest videos — carefully selected and combined in one convenient digital package.

The Lean Production and Automation Insights Kit includes:

  • Lean production and automation: How to find the right mix — A new Rexroth Technical Paper that explores how lean principles are used to identify and eliminate waste, and provides a detailed decision matrix to help determine the right level of automation for any production process.
  • Lean Guidebooks — Multiple, detailed books addressing lean production topics such as ways to optimize assembly operations, ergonomics in manual production and efficient material transport.
  • Lean Manufacturing Podcasts – Quick links to Bosch Rexroth’s comprehensive, informative 15-part podcast series with interviews and insights from leading independent experts in lean production.
  • Expert Software Tools  — Including MTpro, Rexroth’s exclusive design software for manual production systems, conveyors and aluminum structural framing, plus free downloadable 2D and 3D CAD models.
  • Extensive Product Literature — Links to the latest Rexroth literature used in lean production environments, including manual production systems, tightening and assembly tools, linear motion and assembly technology products and more.

This latest kit complements the existing array of Resource Kits covering mobile technology, factory automation, linear motion and mechatronics, packaging and printing and industrial hydraulics topics. All the Resource Kits are free to order from:

Cost of energy (CoE) is the key measure of wind turbine efficiency, as well as being a top priority for turbine operators. Condition monitoring systems make an important contribution in this regard, enabling condition-oriented maintenance to reduce operating costs, and therefore the CoE, in a sustainable manner. Rexroth says its ACoS, the Advanced Condition Monitoring System, is a first in that it combines condition monitoring for all components in the power train of a wind turbine and intelligently networking measurement data from different sensors. A standardized operating interface for all sub-systems speeds up the analysis process and reduces the need for training.

Bosch rex acos

Holistic condition monitoring from Bosch Rexroth keeps wind turbine operators in the loop.

The BLADEcontrol rotor blade monitoring system lets Bosch Rexroth AG join forces with technology company DMT GmbH & Co. KG to develop the holistic ACoS condition monitoring system. The system combines monitoring for all relevant function groups by means of a standardized and continuous connection to a control desk, thereby reducing the need for hardware. By synchronizing the data measurement process, the detection sensitivity and data quality are also increased.

The universal system philosophy enables easier operation while simultaneously increasing the efficiency and transparency of the monitoring, covering a considerably greater number of turbines by each monitoring expert. The system reduces turbine monitoring costs, while also improving the ability to plan for maintenance operations. Operators of onshore and offshore wind turbines are thereby able to reduce their CoE on a long-term basis over the entire service life of the turbine.

The systems combines proven measurement and analysis strategies to form a holistic monitoring strategy on an open platform composed of individual function modules. All measurements are synchronized with each other. By combining monitoring of the rotor and power train, abnormalities on one component can be checked and verified by means of cross-comparison with the measurement data of the other component.

In addition to holistic turbine monitoring, ACoS includes GL-certified ice detection on the rotor blades. This option eliminates on-site inspections of wind turbines to ensure that they are free of ice – a measure that is still required in many cases – and thereby allows the turbine to be restarted safely and promptly once the ice is no longer present.
