We will discuss the test plan and results that Nord-Lock and the operator developed to monitor the Nord-Lock washer solutions for their fleet’s blade bolt loosening issues out on the field. The test plan will cover how to properly install the Nord-Lock washers onto the blade bolt joints, how to establish new torque guidelines when using a Nord-Lock washer on blade bolt joints, and introduce an ultrasonic measurement device to record clamp load readings. The test results will confirm the effectiveness of the Nord-Lock washer solution and how it can improve equipment reliability while lowering O&M costs for owners/operators.
