Renewable Energy Systems (RES), a leader in the development, engineering, and construction of wind, solar, transmission, and energy storage projects in the Americas has been selected by Avangrid Renewables to construct a 200.85-MW wind farm in Gilliam County, Oregon.
RES’ construction role will begin in November 2018 with commercial operation expected in September 2019. The Oregon wind farm should provide about 560 million kWh of renewable energy, annually.
The construction contract represents Phase I of the overall 404-MW Montague Wind Farm and is expected to consist of 56 Vestas wind turbines. The construction, which began in September 2017, will employ approximately 250 workers at its peak and will have up to 14 full-time jobs once it reaches commercial operation.

Once complete, the wind farm would provide approximately 560 million kWh of renewable energy per year, equal to the electricity usage of about 52,000 Oregon households.
